ok so the vernal equinox was thursday morning at 12:48am but yet now there is over A FOOT OF SNOW ON THE GROUND!!!!! and any weather forecasts i look at still predict temperatures below normal, i live in the chicago area. any insight

It's trying hard to snow in North Wales at the moment and sticking at around 200m. Below that, it's just sleet. Fortunately, we don't have 12" of snow!
We still got a foot of snow in upstate ny as well. And it was 5f out yesterday morning. March is almost over. We are usually into the fifties by now, but its barely getting above freezing.

Forget Al Gore, forget the global warming. If you look at records there were much more colder days when it is supposed to be spring decades ago, when there was no "global warming".
Seasons do change, and driving a whimpy hybrid or 4 cylinder won't make a difference.
well the good news is,according to this weather blog I read each time it snows in the spring it was permanently warm 15 days after so since this storm happened on 3/21 by 4/5 temperatures will permanently be warm till november its already starting to warm up now and the snow is starting to melt

Yesterday i began to see this green stuff under the snow, and i was like: What is that? Its been so long? Is that what they call grass?

Really, we got only like 2 inches of snow this year!!
We have not had a real winter but the one in 1997. Tons of snow! blizzard! We have had a few good ones after that, 6" here, few years later 5 1/2". VA is not the best place if you like winter, cold, and snow!!

well I'm in texas, it's about 65 deg f. but nice and sunny so it feels warm. The strange thing weather wise here, last week one day it actually rained MUD. A dust storm convereged with a rain storm. It freaked me out!
