Pdair Metal case
I am wondering what people think about this metal case. I like the clear cover on it also. I have never purchased anything from them.

I received my PDair black metal case a couple of days ago. It only tok about a week to get here from Hong Kong! I like the finish and quality of the case, though I'd rather it was a flip up to open like I used to have. Compared to the HP slip case I've been using, it's slimmer and fits into my pocket much better, so I'm happy. ---John.

I really wish that Innopocket will make a version of their very nice magnesium case for the ipaq 210. The case of my Hx4700 has saved it several times and if it is alive today, it is partly thanks to this very robust case...
Murat

EDIT: I have received a reply from Innopocket telling me that they do not plan to develop a case for the 210.

That's very disappointing. I use their magnesium case on my Axim x51v.

I ordered the same metal case with window from boxwave. I got it in three days, actually, about an hour ago. I like it a lot. We will see how it goes as I get to use and carry it more, but my first impressions are I like it.

An open question to all the guys owning and actively using a metal case: I like the fact of having a rigid case with a soft-ish internal coating to seriously protect the device from falls/hits of any kind, but what prevents me from buying one (and I never tried them, that's why I would like your feedback) is:
1) Very unstable aspect oe f the belt clip: as a add-on accessory, and especially as a "clip", I find it very unefficient. First, I consider the snap-on attach to be very weak, secondly the whole "clip" concept lacks stability; before you tell me that in your experience it's been ok, I can assure you my current HP leather case is heavily stressed, and I modified the leather-covered metal clip (always falling off) with an additional leather strap to make it a belt loop. I always jump in the car or go in/out from doors real fast, hitting something, so if that was a belt clip, and snap-on on top of that, I would lose it every time.
2) It's cool that you can use thdevice even if still inside the case, but as long as there's a rigid screen protection, you still have to get it out of the case to use touchscreen capabilities... and from the videos I've seen around, the case wraps the device quite tight, so you cannot simply get it out on the fly/put it back in real fast, as I do with a leather case. Plus, I have a wrist-lanyard attached to the device, so I don't think it will fit inside
3) A metal case is pretty tight, overall, so I don't think a second battery/CF/4400mAh larger battery would get inside

Did some of you manage to go past those limitations?

Just received mine and the rigid screen protector does seem a bit silly.
What can you do that requires a visible sceen with the case closed besides read e-books?
I'm seriously considering removing mine.

And I never use the clip (on any case) because it seems like a recipe for disaster.

I really don't know why more makers don't go for a top-hinged design.
As-is the top has almost no protection and since the hinged cover is what locks the device in place, it is conceivable (however unlikely) that the device could slip out of the case whenever the cover was open.

Button access is very good except for the power button which is quite a bit harder to reach.

On the plus side it does fit my pocket better than the HP leather sleeve and the vents on the back allow better sound transfer.

Overall I'm happy with it but a top-hinged design and a flexible membrane-type screen protector would make it much more useful to me.

after using alumimum case for HP H1945, I wouldn't get metal case again
the protection is great, but it can block signal, making connection worse
the leather case for 211 is a decent one, and I use 2 card holders to hold miniSD and microSD (in adaptor card)

The people at Innopocket must be getting a flood of questions on the Magnum case for the 211. I emailed them cordially asking of future availability and just got a one word response of NO! . . including the (!)

in response: There as it relates to the boxwave version, there is a cutout for the lanyard to fit through. I do not use the belt clips on the cases, so I can not really give feedback on that. However, the one with my case is simply a basic plastic clip that is removable. I am not sure how comfortable/safe It would be to using it.

It does fit in my pocket better than the slip case.

I have no problems with the signals in my case.

If you could use the stylus through the cover, that would be cool, but was not a breaker for me. As a matter of fact, it there was no advertising that would lead you to think you could.
I can watch videos, see alarms, pull pim using the hard keys and view through the clear cover. I can also use my CF gps with cover closed for geocaching etc.

ON a side note, I emailed Saunders/Rhinoskin a question if they were going to develop one for the 210. They told me they were not plnning on it at this time.

A top lifting cover would be nice, I agree. In situtations where I maywant a leather case, I will just use the supplied leather slip that came with it, becaise IMHO it is really not that bad.

Well 1-day old and my plexiglass is scratched already.
What scratched it?
The plastic button on my breast pocket!

Who woulda thought I needed a screen protector on my case?

Better the plexiglass than your HP 210 screen, though .
