Farewell Aximsite
Today is sort of sad day for me. As you know, I have been in the process of converting Aximsite.com into Mobilitysite over the last couple years, slowly. After I rolled PSPsite and iPaqHQ into Mobilitysite, I started slow progression towards unifying the sites. For the last 6+ months, Aximsite’s forums have rolled you over into Mobilitysite’s forums. Prior to that, they were running side by side with the same content for a year. Well today, I have cut the cord. I am placing this landing page on the domain. I don’t plan to get rid of the Aximsite domain, but I want to leave this here as a memory instead of just forwarding the frontpage to Mobilitysite’s frontpage. I might do more with the frontpage as a static site down the road, but for now, this is it.
All the content is still here, the forum content is all intact in the Mobilitysite.com forums for archived use. Hell, the forums are still happening for Axim owners. Come on in. You can also talk about any Pocket PC or Windows Mobile Device now.
Aximsite was created with the launch of the Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC. It exploded in the 1st month and we went from 1 forum member to 20k in the 1st month. It was wild. I am honored to have been a part of this. Aximsite paved the way for a lot of things I am thankful for today. I have become a Microsoft MVP, Mobile Devices. I have gone to many focus groups such as Mobius. I have attended many tradeshows and was even asked to speak at some. I helped the Atlanta Pocket PC Users Group sometimes. It’s been a blast. With my gadget addiction I have rolled with the punches and the changing of times and now Mobilitysite picks up where Aximsite left off.
to be continued…
